Woody Bassett Endorses All Nine Bond Election Projects
Woody Bassett urges Fayetteville voters to vote FOR all city bond questions 1-9, to fund essential city projects. Early voting is underway, with Election Day on March 3.
“By keeping this 1-cent sales tax in place, the city of Fayetteville will be able to keep that penny working for the town's citizens in vital ways without increasing taxes.
It enables Fayetteville, with voter approval, to periodically borrow large sums of money via a bond issue to fund essential city projects and get them started and finished in a more timely manner. Moreover, in the absence of this penny of sales tax, Fayetteville water and sewer ratepayers would undoubtedly be burdened with much higher monthly bills.
I sometimes disagree with decisions made by Fayetteville city government. But that's no reason to oppose this bond issue. As a resident of Fayetteville, to do so would be tantamount to cutting off my nose to spite my face. Accordingly, I intend to vote in favor of all nine questions on the ballot.
I love Fayetteville. My hometown has been good to me. Let's do what we can to make today's Fayetteville the best it can be and all it can be.”
