Question 2: Water & Sewer Improvements

Every time you turn on the tap or flush a toilet, you’re relying on infrastructure most of us never see, but cannot live without.

On March 3, Fayetteville voters will decide whether to continue an existing one-cent sales tax to invest $335 million in Fayetteville’s future WITHOUT RAISING TAXES. Nearly 45% of that investment is dedicated to water and sewer improvements.

Question 2 focuses on water and sewer, essential city services that protect public health and support daily life. Much of Fayetteville’s water and wastewater infrastructure is decades old and under strain from rapid growth. Aging pipes, pump stations, and treatment facilities increase the risk of breaks, overflows, and costly emergency repairs.

This bond funds critical upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant and major water transmission lines, reducing failures today while supporting future housing and business growth.

Water and sewer systems are not flashy, but they are foundational. Question 2 helps ensure Fayetteville remains reliable, resilient, and prepared for the future.
